Porsche and the Nordschleife (which translates to North Loop) of the Nurburgring go together like peanut butter and jelly, so it’s no surprise that the folks from Zuffenhausen have another fast lap to crow about. This time it’s a Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR driven by development engineer and VLN racing driver, Lars Kern. The stock GT2 RS set a time of 6 minutes 47.3 seconds last year. The MR stands for Manthey-Racing, which is a tuning and racing shop that focuses on Nurburgring racing and of which Porsche has a 51 percent stake.

Manthey-Racing installed its performance kit on the car, which does not change power, but adds set-up and aerodynamic elements to better customize the car to the Green Hell mega track. For safety purposes, this particular car also had a racing seat. The laptime? Six minutes 40.3 seconds, a full seven seconds quicker than the stock car. Cost of the performance kit was not revealed, but I bet if you can afford a Porsche 911 GT2 RS, you can afford the kit too.

Check out a video of the race lap above.
