Lexus is building an RC F Track Edition that will be second only to the mighty LFA in power
There's a updated Lexus RC coupe on its way to the 2019 Detroit auto show, and it's going to be joined on the stand by a special performance variant that takes things even further than the aggressive RC F: The RC F Track Edition.
All we have to go on is the name and a teaser photo of a carbon-fiber rear wing with a stylized "F" worked into the weave -- and one other bit of info Lexus divulged today: It will be the second most powerful car the automaker has produced, behind only the LFA. That car's mighty, high-revving 4.8-liter V10 produced 552 hp; the RC F, with its 5.0-liter V8, kicks out 467. So the RF F Track Edition will sit somewhere in there, perhaps around the 500-hp mark.
We'll see the rest of the car, and get all the specs, soon. The Detroit auto show is just a few weeks away. Which, come to think of it, means 2019 is just around the corner. Start fine-tuning those New Year's resolutions!
