Skoda India has announced the re-introduction of the Monte Carlo nameplate in India after over a year now. The new Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo will be priced in India from ₹ 11.15 lakh to ₹ 14.25 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and is offered in petrol and diesel engine options, available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo will be available across all authorized Skoda dealership in the country in exclusive Flash Red colour scheme, and in India, its the first model to come with the Monte Carlo marque.

Commenting on the introduction of the new Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo, Zac Hollis, Director - Sales, Service, and Marketing, Skoda Auto India said, "We are glad to re-introduce the Monte Carlo marque in India. The Rapid Monte Carlo offers a compelling combination of the brands emotive design, exquisite interiors, leading safety as well as intelligent connectivity features. It is positioned at the upper end of its segment and targets discerning customers who want a premium experience."

Visually, the new Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition comes with signature butterfly grille coloured in black, with matching gloss black mirrors, quartz-cut projector headlights, and LED daytime running lights. Use of the black design elements can be seen on sides and rear sections as well. The Monte Carlo also gets a set of new dual tone 16-inch Clubber alloy wheels with glossy black bolt covers, the glossy black décor on the B pillars with Monte Carlo flag badge, the black roof foil, the black tailgate spoiler and the black grained sporty diffuser.

The new Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo also gets a new interior that pays tribute to Skodas Motorsport heritage. So, the car comes with an all-black cabin while the new upholstery, with red, white and grey accents add to the contrast. The three-spoke SuperSport flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel and the gear knob come with black perforated leather and red decorative stitching. The car also comes with ribbed stainless steel foot pedals, piano black centre console, and scuff plates with MONTE CARLO inscription.

On the features front, the car will come with 6.5-inch colour touchscreen Infotainment System with SmartLink technology supported by MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto which mirrors the smartphone for seamless connectivity and undistracted drive; besides supporting Aux-in, USB, and Bluetooth options. Other creature comforts include rear AC vents, cruise control, height and length adjustable steering wheel, foldable armrests, tinted windows and windscreen, and a rearview camera. On the safety front, the car comes with dual airbags, ABS, and five three-point seatbelts as standard across all variants, while add-on features include ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is available on the DSG variant and HHC (Hill Hold Control) is available on both AT Petrol and AT Diesel variants.

Under the hood, the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo editions engines come from the regular Rapid sedan. So the car will be powered by the 103 bhp 1.6-litre MPI petrol motor and the 108 bhp 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine. Transmission duties will be handled by Skodas trusted DSG gearbox in the diesel model and 6-speed tiptronic transmission in the petrol.
