Ford is building 500 special-edition Mustangs for the 2019 model year with styling inspired by Vaughn Gittin Jr’s drift car. The car is called the Series 1 RTR, and it’s built to drive.

The most important upgrade to the car is the adjustable sway bars, provided by Ford Performance, that allow to the car to be customized for any type of driving situation.

And since it’s named after a drift team, we’re guessing it might actually have some prowess at putting bugs on the side windows.

The corners see 19×9.5-inch wheels up front; and 19×10-inch wheels out back. MagneRide damping is also a part of the package.

Performance Pack-1 or EcoBoost Mustangs will be used as a base for the RTR, but other than the adjustable sway bars, the changes are visual. RTR badges are all over the place, like on the floor mats and shift knob. The grille, trapezoidal insert lights and graphics are all inspired by the team’s drift car.

The front splitter and side skirts extend lower, and around the back we find an elongated spoiler with a Gurney flap and an extended diffuser.

The Series 1 RTR will be available as a dealer-installed option in early 2019, and it will be covered by a normal Ford Mustang warranty.
