Toyota’s 86 now comes in a British Racing Green—in Japan
Toyota took the wraps off a new special edition 86 mid-February, the British Green Limited Edition painted in, well, British Racing Green.
Before you start drooling over this indisputably handsome hue, know two things. First, the upgrades amount solely to an appearance package, with the most functional feature being Sachs dampers and the rest being a trunk spoiler, an underbody pan and exclusive 17-inch dark bronze-coloured aluminum wheels.
And second—it’s available only in Japan, and won’t be marketed at all in Canada. Sorry. You can put your chequebook away.
Now the let-down’s out of the bag, let’s get to the other details. Red Brembo brake calipers sit nicely behind those aforementioned unique rims; and the beautiful BRG is set off inside by a tan-and-black two-tone interior scheme.
Black stitching on the tan bolsters mirror tan stitching on the wheel and shifter. It all comes together very nicely.
With a price equivalent to about US$29,500, this 86 may be one of the more affordable Limited Edition cars on the market. It’s up for order only until May 31.
