Yes NASCAR’s Clint Bowyer has a favorite Halloween costume and it’s kind of weird
The last time Clint Bowyer visited Martinsville Speedway he left with a grandfather clock and a win. He returns still in the thick of the NASCAR Cup Playoffs. Should he win one of the next three races he’ll lock up a spot on the Final Four. So where does he think he has a shot to win?
“I am sitting where I think my best shot it,” Bowyer said Saturday morning at Martinsville. “I know that.”
Bowyer is also a realist and knows nothing is a given.
“Just because you won in the spring doesn't mean you will come here and run well,” he said. “If you look back at our spring race, it took a couple stabs at adjustments and the track coming on and things to get us in a situation where we went ahead and dominated the last half of the race. There are things you have to make sure you check off to make that happen. We made mistakes in the spring race. I made mistakes. You are not going to be able to put together that same race and get the job done.”
Near the end of his press conference, Bowyer was asked what his favorite Halloween costume as a kid.
“Kyle Busch,” he said just after Busch walked into the media center for his media availability. “It was pretty damn scary.”
“Ha. It was too easy man!” Bowyer added laughing. “(He) is my kids favorite.”
As for his real favorite Halloween costume?
“I don't know,” he said. “It is all about having fun with your kids and trying to get more candy than the next guy. It is about the competition. Leave it to a racer to make Halloween a competition too.”
